Not sure how to take Chavez. He certainly does himself no favours by sidling up to lunatics like Mugabe and Ahmadinajad. Not opposed to socialism per se but most of it's exponents leave something to be desired.
I noticed in one photo, Chavez was brandishing a copy of something by Noam Chomsky.
